2nd place medal!!
Yeah!!! We managed to get 2nd place!!! Not a bad feat considering we were complete newbies in the game just the day before... Hee... All thanks to the rest of the team... Daniel, Weikun, Weiyong, June, Jiahui last but definitely not least, our 'manager' Carol... heh...
The waking up in the early morning and dragging myself down to school at 8.30am was definitely worth it for this... There were only 5 teams, Redfoot (Us), Dean's List, SingHealth, Scamp Rawks and Pirate Ship... but it was fun... Ultimate frisbee is definitely a very fun sport, but tiring... The interesting thing is that most decisions on the pitch are made by everyone playing... if a foul is called, the other player has a right to contest it if he feels it was an unfair call, until there is a general agreement on what should be done... most of the time, the ref doesn't even have to intervene... so everyone should know the basic rules... heh...
We were up against Dean's List first... quite possibly our biggest rivals... they had this guy we couldn't mark at all... damn tall, fast and a very good player... considering he plays for Muddy Grass, the NUS ultimate frisbee team, that's saying a lot... heh... we lost to them 1-4... quite demoralising... but our other matches went more smoothly... thanks to the times we came together to see what went wrong after the first match, and to our practices in between matches...
We swept through the other 3 matches... winning all 3... hee... good teamwork and great playing guys!!! Kept switching players frequently so we don't tire out... stuck to our marks... and just held on... heh...
When it came down to the finals... it was just Deans List and us... stress ah... This time we were better prepared... everyone played damn well... bouncing back from 2-0 to 2-2, then when their best player came on, 2-4... we managed to fight for the last point so the ref could stop the game... in the end... 3-4!! We didn't win, but the loss margin was very minimal... Usually the round ends after 7 mins of that half, but the ref decided to let the half end after the next point was scored... what he didn't expect was that everyone was so tired that we all held on for another 6 minutes... nearly another half... before the last point was scored... Ahaha... Great finish guys!!!

Heh... we were all having so much fun... laughing and cheering all the way... even during the matches... hehe... Great company!! Thanks for the great time guys!! Next time we go Sentosa play!! Hehe... Redfoot Huat AH!!
