Quick one before I have to leave for dinner..

Got this in my email a week back...

"Congratulations on winning a limited edition 40th Anniversary Chevrolet Camaro Scale Model Pack from General Motors!"

Kinda surprised actually.. cos the contest was just for you to write something about your favourite Chevrolet... And well... I actually haven't driven any of them yet!! Lol...

So basically.. I just smoked my way through... I just wrote... "My favourite Chevrolet is the Camaro, because it is a great combination of modern design and asthetics, with all the fun of a 1970s muscle car"

Lol.. Can't believe it got chosen as one of the 10 winners.. lol...

I wasn't expecting the cars to be the usual 1/18 scale that I collect... but at least 1/43... funny thing is... the box puts them as 1/64, but it looks more like 1/43s.. haha..

Here's the pics anyway... Enjoy!

That's all!! Gotta go for dinner with the NS guys and it just starts raining.. wth...

First post of the New Year... Err.. ok... so? Lol... I usually hardly ever care about celebrating New Years... Why? What's the point? It's just another reminder that you're getting older, things are changing and you've got another day lesser to live...

My initial plan for the New Year was to just have a home-cooked dinner, slack and watch tv till midnight, where I'll open a bottle of wine, drink a bit and go sleep... Instead.. my plans were.. rather wonderfully changed by one sms from Nicole.. Lol...

Turned out she was taking part in this dance competition at Cine.. it would last till midnight.. so I decided I'd just pop down, since Weiming was supposed to call me when he was done that day anyway...

The dance competition started around 11pm... with an emcee that didn't really have much to ask the groups after they finished performing... Blast had like... 5 groups in the competition.. Mainly because, this was one competition, where competitors were actually PAID to take part as well... $300 per group.. so... most groups had like 3 to 5 people... Even BHF took part.. Big Hair and Friends that is.. lol.. Roz, Taufik and Candy.. Who eventually won... First prize... $1200... sheesh...

Anyway... the countdown came around... everyone partied around for a bit... and then we found out that the money for the competitors could only be collected at The Cathay... wth??

So.. Nic, her friend Nicholas and I decided we'd walk down to The Cathay before taking a cab back home... And as usual.. the foreign workers were out in full force again... but this year with less cans of that stupid fake snow... Still didn't stop some of them from trying to spray passers-by... Nicholas put it in the best way possible, "If any of them sprays us, I'll shove the can up their butt, through their jeans and all".. lol...

Luckily we chose to walk on the other side of the road, opposite Centrepoint... you could see them across the street... hear their crazy shouts of Happy New Year... and like a mob, they just continued on from Orchard all the way down to Dhoby Ghaut and beyond...

Reached Cathay, realised that they had a free party with free Asahi beer right outside The Cathay.. music sounded good.. so we decided to stay.. lol... Didn't really like beer, so I took only one cup of it... Nicholas tried to egg me on to drink more... but that ain't gonna happen... I know what happens when I drink too much, and I'm not gonna let it happen again... So call me a wuss, I don't care... At least I know what my limit is and I stand by my choice to stay in control of myself..

A few of the blast jnrs came by too.. ended up partying there till around 2 plus.. then we all went for supper at Newton.. reached home at 5am... totally conked out...

But surprisingly, my bio clock ended up being totally screwed up... couldn't sleep till like 5am for the past 2 days.. and now.. I'm kinda slightly sick... Gonna finish up and probably head to bed earlier...

Went for the first blast class of 2008... well.. snr class only anyway.. still a bit under the weather... Damn man... I'm rusty.. lol... managed to pick up the pace halfway through... but the lethargy and the lightheadedness still got to me at the start...

The diecast model store at Millenia had new stocks coming in, so I hitched a ride with Pat down to Millenia Walk.. lol... First time in so long that I saw so few cars in Suntec.. why? new ERP gantry before the Rochor exit on ECP from Clementi... lol...

Saw the new models in the store... Prices went up AGAIN... sheesh... they're nuts... from $125 to $155 for one, it jumped to $155 to $185, and now... $158 to $188... wth... even with the member discount, it's starting to be quite ex to keep on getting from the shop... Luckily, I have other venues to get them... Some cheaper too... Lol.. I hung around the shop.. even helped one guy make a decision on a model.. 18+ yr old guy... came in looking for a particular model.. that one got delayed till Feb 08... saw another one he liked.. and got shocked at the price... Like I said.. starting to get exp... $185 nett, $148 with member discount.. still kinda ex.. So in the end he just put in a deposit... Didn't have the heart to tell him that the black version that he wanted.. I got the last piece last week.. lol... *Refer to previous post*...

Stayed there to chat with my friend working there and shared a cab back once he closed up at 9.30... Forgot about that damn $3 CBD surcharge... sheesh... But then, because of that, there were actually queues of taxis in Suntec, and not the other way around...

Ugh... I hate being sick... dont' have the energy to do anything else except stone in front of my computer... or on the bed.. which I should be hitting soon... Still have a packed day tmr... AVP2 with the sis, then meeting up with the sis' other 'brother', also another Chris.. That's gonna be fun... call one Chris and all 3 turn... Lol... Then dinner with Kareen... and then I'm gonna have to get back home and get cracking on putting more stuff on my project again... hopefully, I can launch it end of the month... Hopefully... Gonna have to do all that... PLUS try to organise a sec sch guys outing for Fri night.. the ONLY day they most probably would be free, before school starts for those in NTU, and work starts for the rest...

Got another meetup with the NS guys on Sun... and meeting my friend, who's been a great help to me, on Mon for dinner... Just heard he proposed to his long-time gf!! Congrats man!! So fast sia.. lol... I don't even see myself settling down till I'm at least 30-ish... lol... Provided the right girl comes along anyway... But until then... I'm not really gonna bother so much about it... If it happens, it happens... Just gonna enjoy life now...

2008 had better be more promising than 2007 for me... Or rather... I'm gonna make sure it's better than 2007... Heh...

This blog is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced reasoning inherent to the thinking of the mind. It is the eventuality of an anomaly, which despite my sincerest efforts I have been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mind and body. While it remains a burden assiduously avoided, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led me, inexorably, here. (Yeah. It's edited from Matrix Reloaded, so bite me)
