We had a very irritating customer today... First, he comes in and tells us he wants to sit at the back, where, quite clearly, is the sign "Section Closed" shown. Then, he pointed to the seats near the back, where there are 3 tables with the "Reserved" sign on them... Allo... I can see those 2 signs from NYDC lah... you tell me you can't see them even though they're not even 20 metres from you? You're wearing glasses somemore you know!! Just cos you're with another guy friend and 2 girls, doesn't mean you can act all assertive and whatnot just to show off to them... Damn poseur...

Then when I go take your orders, everyone else has decided except you... so much for your assrtiveness eh? Can even "err... ah.. err..." when you're telling me you want to use the coupons you have... Where's your confidence and boldness now? Shattered when you couldn't get the table you wanted? Even want to remind me that you'll have your tea later, AFTER I just repeated, "And 2 teas later." Wrong way to show your assertiveness man...

Then try to act all bigshot when it comes to paying the bill... and you find that the 1 for 1 set meal means that the cheaper set meal is free... not the more expensive one that you paid for... Say things like, "I study business, and I've worked in F & B before, I know you all can split the bill" Allo... management say cannot means cannot lah... You say can, you're the management ah? Then act cheapskate by saying "I have to pay for the coupons too you know.." WTF... no one forced your hand to buy the coupons... our fault meh? Our fault that you're too stupid to read the conditions at the back of the card? I expected that, since you couldn't even read the 2 signs in the shop...

So what if you're studying business, you've just given your school a bad name... you even so stupid to wear the school's t shirt to the shop... now we all know where you're from... But I'm not going to say where... after all, there are only a few management schools whose campus is near Orchard... and still half completed...

One tip to anyone who wants to impress girls... Don't tell any restaurant management what they CAN and CANNOT do... cos we already know what we can and cannot do... trying to tell us something different, will just embarrass you when we don't do what you want, and you'll be the fool, not us...

There are better ways to impress them, that don't include making yourself look like a ass...

I have the utmost respect for people in the service line now... heh... It ain't easy working at a restaurant, especially when a crowd comes in unexpectedly... Plus, there's all the heavy plates and cutlery you have to carry when you clear the table, set it for the next group of people, and send to food over... it also doesn't help that Big O has quite big and heavy plates and cutlery... And when the food starts to heat up the plate... you just want to put the plates on the table, but you can't cos there isn't enough space, and you still have to hold on to the heated up plate while making space...

And not to mention all the shit you get... sometimes, customers ask questions that you just have to answer... Like... "What bread do you use for the sandwich? Is it wholemeal?" I'm like, is there a frickin' difference what bread we use? It's still bread right? And sometimes, one question isn't enough... The person who asked that question also asked, "Is the fish and chips fish breaded or battered? Can put less batter? Why dun have the chicken and mushroom pie? (The hell if I know, we just stopped making it) What comes with the set? (When just a minute ago, they pointed at the board and asked got set ah? The description was right there as well) How big is the portion? I want a light meal, we going next door for desserts later... And in the end, they end up eating desserts from Big O instead... what the hell... Ask so many questions... so picky about food, then cook it yourself lah!! Hur...

Luckily, that was only one customer... Not everyone was like that... Actually, the young adults and expats who go there treat the service staff better than others... I usually get more "thank yous" from them, rather then the families and other Singaporeans... there was a group of 7, think 2 of them are shotgunned, cos they had a toddler and the parents looked quite young, still got traces of beng-ness and lian-ness... heh... Knn... That group ah... ask them whether I can clear their plates, they bo hiew me... ask whether can refill their water, also dun care, just keep on talking... so pissed, I just cleared their plates and let others top up their water... I even had this 2 old Aussie ladies who were quite sweet.. when I arrived with their drinks, one of them went, "Oh, thank you very much, that's lovely, thank you!" So nice... heh...

The expats and young working adults are also better tippers than others... I always manage to get some tips for the 'pot' that we have when I send them their change... hee... There was one customer that made me kinda pissed... This person's change was $3.70, a $2 note, one 50 cent coin, a dollar coin and 2 20 cents. He took the note, the $1 and 50 cents... He left the 20 cents on the book obviously as a tip... BUT, then the chatty China woman next to him, while still talking to him, picked up his 20 cents and put it on the table for him... Arrgh... Maybe it IS true... that Chinese people cannot give you a bargain, as quoted from Russell Peters... heh...

Oh well... at least I kinda enjoy what I'm doing... gives me a chance to study people too... heh... can even start to tell which 2 guys are gays... hehe... Wheelock has quite a number of gay couples walking around... Sometimes, they're very obvious... sometimes, not as much...

Then there are the couples you can look at too... see them all lovey dovey... or just sitting and chatting... You know, maybe there is some truth to more women liking geeks now... saw this couple... the girl was really good looking... but the guy was a total geek... even my fren commented about how the guy managed to get a girl like that... heh... So there's still hope my geeky friends!! Hehe... you just have to find the right woman... Or find Hitch... =D

Oh well... I still have 3 more shifts to work... Thurs, Fri and Sat... Fri and Sat are going to be killer shifts cos it's the dinner shift... gonna be a hell a lot of people there... Hope we can cope... hur... Any of my freinds who want to drop by, feel free too... Heh... but no discounts hor... I'm still a trainee...

I'm so happy today!!! I just bought my car!! Hee... Went down to see it today... it was kinda impromptu... didn't really want to, but I was passing by the place, so I just walked in... I was shocked by the wide range... sports cars, luxury cars, SUVs, they even had exotics!! So nice!!

I spent my time looking at everyone of them... all parked there nicely... In those few standard colours... silver, black, white, there were also a few reds and blues... very nice...

I stood there for a long time before finally deciding to go ahead with it... selected the car I wanted, and went to make payment. Luckily they had it in stock, and I was able to bring it home the very day... I was SO happy... I got home and took my camera and took a few pics with it... It looks so damn nice... *swoon*...

See? These are the pics I took...

You know how sometimes, someone says something to funny that you'll be laughing non stop?? Well... the following certainly made me do that... I even had to try to stifle the laughter by burying my head under a pillow...

From bash.org:

Nori123: You don't know jack shit
VioletSky: That's not true, I know him well
Nori123: Haha
VioletSky: I'm serious

VioletSky: Jack is the son of Awe Schitt and O. Schitt. Awe Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep N. Schitt Inc. They had one son, Jack. In turn Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt, the deeply religious couple produced 6 children

VioletSky: Holie Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Giva Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins: Deap Schitt and Dip Schitt. Against her parents' objections, Deap Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high school drop out.

VioletSky: However, after being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt later remarried Ted Sherlock and, because her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name.

VioletSky: She was then known as Noe Schitt-Sherlock. Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt and they produced a son of nervous disposition, Chicken Schitt.

VioletSky: Two other of the 6 children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony.

VioletSky: The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Schitt-Happens wedding. The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Hoarse.

VioletSky: Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt.

VioletSky: So there.
FiPo: LOL
Nori123: I have actually chortled coke through my nose

ROTFLMAO
I'm not kidding... It IS that farney to me... heh... =P

I just realised... MY CAMPUS CARD IS BROKEN!!! There's a horizontal crack right across the magnetic strip!! Argh!! I didn't even know it was there!! *sobs* it was a relatively new card too...

Hai~... guess I'll have to go down to the bank tmr afternoon... get a replacement... don't think it costs anything right?

Anyway, on a happier note... I managed to get a job at Big O... hehe... Thanks to darling Val and Eugene... heh... It's $5 an hour, but still better than nothing... I figure if I work full days, I could earn quite a lot... but first, I'll have to learn how to be a waiter... heh... Think I'll be starting next week... Wish me luck guys!! I hope to be able to earn enough to replenish my bank account... hee...

And to think I also went to apply for work at Cartel... where you have to pay $28 for your 2 t shirts, one apron and your name tag if you're selected... I was thinking... wrong choice? hehe... Oh well... Don't think I'll be working there already...

Oh yeah... GRand Theft Auto: San Andreas for PC is out!! Now, if only some kind soul coming back from US could buy a copy for me... hee...

Finally blogging after a while... Hur... my results aren't what I expected... Didn't improve, didn't deprove that much too... And I'm not exaggerating when I say I'll probably not have much of a life for my next 2 semesters... Right now, if anyone who gets more than 3.5 tells me they did badly... I'll smack them in the head... I really will... 3.5 is good compared to what I got... I don't even know what else I can do...

I managed to grasp most of what was taught this sem... so y can't I seem to pull my grades up? I guess this coming sem, I won't be taking any arts modules... hehe... can't really seem to do well with them... maybe I'm not artsy enough...

I don't know... don't really have the mood to write more... =(

Slkrz blog
This blog is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced reasoning inherent to the thinking of the mind. It is the eventuality of an anomaly, which despite my sincerest efforts I have been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mind and body. While it remains a burden assiduously avoided, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led me, inexorably, here. (Yeah. It's edited from Matrix Reloaded, so bite me)
