Ok ok.... I know I said I'd update it the next day, but I was kinda tired... hee... anyway, went to watch Kill Bill Vol. 2 today... not bad.... kinda wraps up the entire story... plus that part with Gordan Liu was hilarious... The fight with Elle Driver was kinda nice too... And I kinda find it stupid when Vol 1 is still R21 but Vol 2 can be M18... then what about those who are between those ages? They can only watch Vol 2... like seeing the middle and end without the beginning... And I'm exactly like that now... just cos my b-day hasn't passed yet... sheesh... Luckily I've got my trusty internet to d/l Vol 1 from... hee... Anyway, after that, Kev and I went to catch the Man U Liverpool match... although I'm not really a soccer fan... I was just there to enjoy the seesha... Don't know what that is? It's basically Turkish smoking, although you don't really feel any effects from it, unlike smoking... but there IS an age limit... 18 if I'm not wrong... We only stayed for the first half though.. and it was so disappointing... 0-0 at the end of the first half... Liverpool was very disorganised.... Hai~...

It's been a tiring week... cos of the 35th Anniversary parade rehearsals... so tiring that I always almost immediately KO when I lie on my bed... From Mon to Thurs, we were all so tired that we didn't even want to go for nights off... just wanted to seh in bunk... and we also had preps to do for the full dress rehearsal on Thurs... that was tiring too... everything must be perfect... sian... rank must put just right... uniform must iron just right... argh.... bloody troublesome... and the parade is so bloody long... although this one really is impressive... Like NDP, quoting from the Army RSM... I'll try to get a pic up when I can.... And my Contingent RSM is like so naggy... always telling us, 'Sharper gentlemen!!', 'Not sharp enough!!', 'Bang your leg down in double quick time!!', 'Close your fingers!!', but sometimes, he tells those things to us when we are trying to listen to the commands being given by the Formation RSM... then, when we do it slower, he scolds us... sheesh... But there is one thing he says that I REALLY like... It's 'You again ah, 3rd sergeant! Always the 3rd sergeants, you all should be thrown in the longkang (drain)!!' Wahahaha.... I always want to laugh when he says that... Ahahaha... bloody specialists can't even do proper drills... what a laugh...

Anyway, I'll keep updating you guys on the parade... think I'll put up day 2 of the Perth trip...

10th April
Went on a 1 day trip to Albany today... Damn long sia... 950km drive there... on the way, passed by the town of Williams, geographical sites like The Gap and Natural Bridge, which is like the blowhole and other formations we learnt in geog... Found those 3 types of Twix in Williams... the pic is on Val's blog... I'll try to get it up here when I have the time... Anyway, throughout the drive to Albany, the landscape reminded me of the landscape in Wallaby, all dry and spacious, with little trees... Drove past a few vineyards too... Oh oh!! I just HAVE to mention this... at the Gap, there was this guy posing for his friends on the rock top... in a meditating position... managed to take a pic of that too... hee...
Went to Whale World too... it's like a museum of whaling that was carried out in the earlier years... saw a restored whaling ship... sheesh... their quarters sure are cramp... I wouldn't want to live in there for long periods... Saw whale skeletons too... they were huge!! Walked around a bit more, then we went to see a Wind farm... where they have those huge modern windmills to harness power... they looked nice against the sunset... and the coast over there... it so beautiful!!! The waves and everything were just magnificent.... Then we went back to Albany before going back to the hotel... and in Albany, there's a huge rock in the shape of a Labrador's head, so they called it Dog rock, and there are even shops around it that adopted that moniker... Dogrock post office... etc... kinda neat huh?
One more thing that I have to mention, in our tour, there's this sole Jap girl who took the tour on her own... poor thing doesn't know much english... so the driver had to help her with the forms and everything... and she even got lost once cos she tot she had to walk back to the coach when it already was parked up ahead... at the end of the walking trail... poor thing... brave though.. Hehe... Think her name was Tomomi Momose... hee... saw it on the forms... Anyway, think that's all now.... got back to the hotel room at 11 plus and went to sleep... tired as hell...

Day 3 coming soon... =)

I'm finally back from Australia... feels kinda good to be back... I guess you can say I'm more relaxed now... hehe... REALLY needed that break... did quite a lot of stuff too.... and I recorded them down in a notebook I brough along... with pics too... so I'll probably start posting them up soon... a day at a time I guess.... right now, I'm just happy to be back.... Not that Perth was bad... it's just that they close so early, there's nothing to do at night other than eat, watch TV and/or club and go drinking... it's hard to get around at night without a car.... but even with one, it's hard too... trust me, once I finish the Aus journals, you'll know what I mean...

But for now, I think I'll just enjoy being back in my own home... in front of my com and on my nice comfy bed... Ahh.... it's really good to be back home... nothing else to write... maybe I'll start on the first day...

9th April
The flight was supposed to be at 1030, but it got delayed, and we actually took off only at 11 plus... before that, the flight was already delayed from 8 plus... wonder whether it's cos of all the extra security measures... Anyway, once we took off, we passed over Tekong... since I was sitting at the window just behind the wing, I managed to catch a look at the entire island... saw BMTC, SISPEC, even the old schools and reclaimed land... Hm... it looks so small... ;) Watched Chasing Liberty on the plane... well, it was either that or Something's Gotta Give... Chasing Liberty's about the daughter of the American President, played quite nicely by Mandy Moore, who runs away from her bodyguards in Europe and befriends this English guy who turns out to be a CIA agent tasked to protect her, but ends up falling in love with each other... The usual chick flick... hehe...
Nothing else happened on that 5 hour flight... although the babies did make a fuss for like half the trip... they should put ppl with babies and infants right at the back of the plane... and make that section soundproof... so that no one can hear them when they're screaming their little red heads off... I don't even know why they do that... my mother was saying that we were so quiet when we took our first plane trip when I was an infant... Hm... Anyway, there were no hijacks or anything... hehe...
Then those same infants/babies made even more noise when we were landing... It's like... When the plane is taking off, they're saying 'I don't want to fly!!', then they get used to it and when they land, they're saying 'I don't want to land!!!... Come on... make up your mind!!! As if that's not enough... the immigration clearance at the airport took so long... a 747 full of ppl and only 4 counters open... I think I waited there for 45 mins... but there WAS a silver lining... Got to see a few single chio bus... Hehe... Wah... one was wearing a very nice black top... nice hair... legs... the works... I just kept bio-ing... hehe... Until I got out to the airport departure area... saw her meet her boyfriend there... Chey.. no wonder wear so nice... hehe...
We were supposed to meet this guy at the airport, wearing an orange shirt, to take us to the hotel, thing is, he was there, but our names weren't on the list!! Anyway, he made a few calls and managed to squeeze us in on his mini van... and guess who had to sit on the step on the floor until the first few ppl got out?? Little old me of course... We were the last off the bus... we're always the last ppl to get sent to the hotel... sheesh... anyway, found our room, 1010.... I'm sharing it with my parents... 2 double beds!! I got one whole one to myself... Yay!!! Hee...
By then, it was quite late, so we just went down the road to eat at a nearby KFC... they have these 3 fast food places sharing one space... KFC, Domino's Pizza and Hungry Jacks... which is basically Burger King... so these 3 were sharing one space... while Mac's is just further up, with one whole space to itself!! What a monopoly... hee... Anyway, I saw this 10 yr old kid... finish an entire small pizza!!! I was like... Wah!!! eat so much!! Most probably to stay warm I guess... hee... we took a short walk after that, but not many places were open, cos it was Good Friday... they take their holidays very seriously... so most of the shops were closed.... Saw a shop selling car models... might want to drop by there on of those days next time... hee... Anyway, we went back to the hotel, washed up and I just watched TV, while waiting for my sis to come by... she's joining us for tmr's day trip to Albany... and I just really KO-ed once we swtiched off the lights... didn't wake up till the next day...

Well... that's it for Day 1... I'll do day 2 tmr... ;)

You know that sore throat I have? Guess its not really a sore throat... just that there's an ulcer at the back of my throat... quite big... I actually took a torch and shone it into my throat to see... quite big... but now not so pain already... guess it's healing...

Anyway, I took my stitches out on Tues... and now, after my meals, I have to flush the hole there cos it's quite big... a whole rice grain can get stuck in there... believe me, it's happened before... anyway, I kinda find it fun to flush... hehe... The dentist gave me a 10ml syringe with a small metal pipe at the end... and I just have to fill it up and squirt into the hole... and see the food (if any) come out... hehe...

Hai~... I'm damn tired now... but just need to say one more thing... Tmr morning, I'm going on a H-O-L-I-D-A-Y!!! Yay!!! Yup yup!! I'm going to Perth tmr... to visit my sis... for a whole week!! Whee!! No worries!! No army to worry about for a week... I just want to relax over there... clear my head and prepare for civilian life!! Hehe... some of you guys are gonna hate this... wahaha.... but I don't care... I REALLY need this break... otherwise, I might just have a psychotic episode... ;)

So... I gotta sleep now... see ya all in a week!!

Sianz.... today is one fekking boring day in camp... did nothing but sleep, wake up, sweep the vehicle shed, eat canteen, go office read newspaper, listen to the ku-niang of a CSM rant and rave his usual stuff, go canteen for lunch, go back office to play flash games, returned to bunk, slept, went down to office to take attendance (where did they think we'd go???), changed, booked out... Whoo hoo... such fun... Sianz....

Well... at least there's a bright side... I took half day off tmr cos I'm going for dental appt tmr afternoon... might as well come home earlier... hehe... Probably meeting Val after that... hai~... seems that nowadays, she's the only free fren cos she works shifts... and my other frens are just so busy with school, NS... the usual... We're probably going to meet up with an old fren... and just nuah somewhere... hehe... Ah.. life is good sometimes... ;)

Hai~... still have that damn irritating sore throat of mine... you know the kind... it's not the rough feeling one you normally get... this one still let's you talk properly... just that when you swallow, you feel that you've got something poking your throat... Damn irritating... and when your throat gets dry, it just get's worse... like swallowing glass... argh!!!

Dammit.... There's really nothing much to write about today... unless you wanna hear about the weird ppl in trains again... well... I"ll make this short... I don't know whether this seems racist to you... When I was going back to camp on Sun, I was at Jurong East in the train, waiting for it to leave when this little old chinese lady sitting opposite me just came over and sat between me and another chinese female... I tot is was odd since there wasn't any need to move, at least I didn't see any... Until I looked over and saw that the seat she had just vacated was in between a malay and an indian guy!! Then I was like... 'Racist!!!'

Although I'm not sure of the real reason, I'll let you guys think of it... k? Hehe... I really gotta go... need to soothe my sore throat... Hai~...

Waah.... my phone's spoiled... :( My darling 6100... has lost it's voice!!! Sian...

Well.... That's what happened yesterday anyway... So, I wanted to get it repaired ASAP... but... couldn't cos it was raining damn heavily and Mei was also coming over to take her CD back... So I had to wait for her first... Anyway, in the end I went down to my music teacher's handphone shop (yes, I know it sound weird), and tot they could do it for free... But since I still had warranty, they told me to send it to the Nokia shop instead... So, it was to late to do that, I had to wait until today... And I specially woke up at 10 so I could get to the service shop at 12... Send it in, and surprisingly, they told me I could get it back by 2.30!! Wah!! Tot it would take a few days.... talk about express service.. hee...

Actually, my phone spoiling was my doing... I woke up that day still dazed... took my phone and started to get out of my room when I bumped against the cupboard and lost my grip on my phone!! Argh!! Suay rite?? Sian.... But now, I have my baby back... hehe... So happy... Yay!! Anyway, while I was waiting at the shop, I got so irritated by those couples who bring their kids there when their kids obviously don't want to be there... In the end... I find myself getting irritated by screamers... and in an enclosed place, it's even worse... Argh... Please lah... For goodness and hearing's sake... Do you REALLY need 2 ppl to get a phone repaired? I don't think so... So one of you just take the kid somewhere while you get it done!! Sheesh!! You're not joined at the hip!!!

Ok... enough gripes... I just realised something today... My wisdom tooth doesn't really hurt at all... Yup... maybe I'm one of those lucky ones who doesn't have any pain when it's take out... in fact, apart from taking care not to tear the stitches, there's nothing normal I can't do... Eat, drink... hell, I've even accidentally chewed ice too... No pain at all... Well... hopefully my next op next month will be the same too...

Hai~... My 'brudder' Kev is probably now at Changi airport preparing to fly off to Brunei... for jungle training... poor guy... hehe... he had to cut his hair like a recruit... even got mistaken for one in camp... Hehe... Anyway... here's to Kev... happy flying!! *Downs a glass of wine*

So to sort of celebrate this day, I invited him to come over my place 2 days ago... he had to get a bag from me anyway... But after that, we just kinda stoned around, played Need For Speed Underground... then decided to go for supper... Got into his car... and since it was around 11... went to see if VAl had finished work... We picked her up then went to Lau Pa Sat for supper... and I tell you... you just HAVE to try the sambal stingray over there.... Power!! Or as Kev would say... S, W, E, E... swee... hee... Anyway, we ended up eating that, a few sticks of satay and a few scoops of ice cream... We sat and talked about anything under the sun... then decided to go... er... ok, nvm... I suggested we go to the Esplanade to talk more and just walk off the food... in the end, we went to the marina promenade park car park... and.......... saw a couple making out in the back seats of their car!! Whoo hoo!!!! 0_o But we didn't bother them... we just walked down the river, past the bridge and decided to sit down at the breakwater and enjoy the scenery, the breeze and the sound of the waves... very calming... We just sat there, and talked about life, family, reality.... deep cheem stuff.... Hee.... We talked so much we didn't even know it was 3am already... so poor Kev had to send both of us home... and he lived in Woodlands... hehe... really long drive sia... hee...

Besides that, nothing much really happened these past few days... Urgh... my stomach's giving me trouble now... it's hungry!! But guess I still shouldn't have eaten that kinder bueno... hee... Think I'll stop here, need to ease my stomach... but... before I go... here's something you guys should try... interesting site... Go here now!!! My results are below... Maybe you guys will be able to understand me more with this... Enjoy!!!

You are a sensitive person and often find yourself daydreaming about your past and future. You are quite conservative and the values that your parents and teachers instilled in you still play an important part in your decision making. You are always wilful and most of the time, you are a stubborn person. But you love to work and are quite honest, which makes you good to get along with as a friend or lover. You are vigorous yet gentle. You appear to be mysterious to those who don't know you very well because you don't often reveal your feelings. You like to socialize and are popular among your peers. You are logical, smart and inventive. Sometimes you are too cold and selfish.

It's April Fools' Day... so what... Yahoo? I can get tricks and pranks played on me today? WTH... I hate it when ppl try to play extreme tricks on you... What's extreme... oh, those kinds where you can literally feel your heart jump when someone tells you something, and when you find out it's a joke, you don't know whether to laugh or punch that sonofabitch... I don't think it's funny when you nearly get a heart attack... Imagine you play a prank on that person and he collapses due to heart attack... Would you still jump out and say April Fools? I don't think so... I think you'd crap in your pants...

Enough about April Fools... I hate stupid days like that... Well... as some of you already know, I'm on MC til Sat, cos of my wisdom teeth which got extracted yesterday... So I'm stoning at home, watching Smallville, when I see Lana Lang telling someone that so-and-so's ok, it's just that there weren't any 'sparks'... And that set me thinking... In relationships, is that what really keeps 2 ppl so close together?? That elusive chemistry some ppl just have... that 'spark' to keep the relationship going... Is there really such a thing? Or is it cos the attraction between 2 ppl become so strong that this chemistry just happens?

I know there are lots of types of attraction... mutual attraction, physical attraction... and of course... sexual attraction... I guess out of all this, there comes a point where sexual attraction is strongest... Probably due to man's most basic of needs... To eat, live and procreate... Maybe this 'spark' is the culmination of all these attractions between 2 ppl... And if it is... would it ever lose its strength? Or would it last thoughout... Hence ppl finding their 'One'...

Then again, I feel that any relationship requires commmitment and understanding, of course that attraction for each other should also be there... as that's what puts the spice in the relationship... But in my 20+ years, I've seen ppl who look so compatible together, seems to share this chemistry... when all of a sudden, after 2, 3 years, they just break up, citing reasons like difference in goals or absence of love... But really... if this chemistry is so strong, how can it just disappear like that? What's changed? Is it because ppl are too busy to keep the romance alive? Always working and studying... barely having time for each other... Then again, there are couples who seem to have it down pat... Juggling work and relationships... even finding time to be alone with each other... So what's missing from others that these have?

I guess it has to be commitment... to each other and the relationship... ppl just get so busy with work and school that they forget to spend time with one another... communication gets worse and soon, arguments happen... small ones at first, very minor... then they escalate into major ones... But I don't mean we shouldn't argue... by all means, quarrel... just make up afterwards and try to relight that so-called spark...

Whenever frens ask me for advice in relationships, I don't claim to be good in relationships, maybe I'm able to give an outsider's POV... In any case, I'll always try to ask this one question... 'Are you happy in your relationship?' I mean, is it THAT hard to see whether you're happy? I mean, you may have quarrels and such, but at the end of the day, do you end up wondering y you 2 got together in the first place, or are you just happy that you 2 are together?? To me, being happy in a relationship is of utmost importance... If you're happy, then you're willing to do things for your other half, you'll enjoy each other's company more... you'll never feel sian with each other... then you'll be able to communicate, support each other... I feel that's most important... Everyone pursues happiness in life... if you're not happy, life would be such a drag... having friends whom you can turn to can also make one feel blessed... but there's a level of comfort and happiness that cannot be reach unless you're in a happy relationship...

So I ask of all those couples out there... Are You Happy??

This blog is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced reasoning inherent to the thinking of the mind. It is the eventuality of an anomaly, which despite my sincerest efforts I have been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mind and body. While it remains a burden assiduously avoided, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led me, inexorably, here. (Yeah.
