Halloween's just passed by, and at least I managed to catch movies with my friends, albeit one kinda last minute one on Sat night... 11.25pm movie.. sheesh... Can't remember the last time I actually left the house that late... Watched Halloween on Friday, The Seeker on Sat...
First of all, Halloween is a slasher flick.. so of course one would expect blood, gore and selective nudity, like all other slasher flicks in the genre, which is also the reason for the NC-16 rating... But, like some ignorant movie-goers in Singapore, I guess they just pick a movie for fun, without even knowing what to expect... Which could explain the 3 'ah lian' bimbos sitting behind me in the cinema... Mike Myers slits a throat, blood oozes out, and the first thing I hear is "Eee!! So much blood!! So gross!!"
Oh no, really? *raises eyebrow*
Hello girls, it's called a SLASHER flick, means blood, gore and violence... What did ya expect? Cute little bunnies hopping around? Everyone living happily ever after? Sheesh... Watch a cartoon if you want that kind of ending...
I seriously don't enjoy watching a movie where the vocal commentaries I hear during the show are all "Oh my God!!"
Look ladies, I'm sure He's heard you, and I'm also sure He's too busy with the rest of the world to look in on 3 bimbos watching a slasher flick...
When I COULD concentrate on the movie, it wasn't that bad, at least it showed the history of Mike Myers, and psych majors would just love to analyse what went wrong with him... All in all, quite an ok movie...
The Seeker was next, on a Sat night at Great World... Friends hadn't been there in a long time, so we decided to try it out, and there's always the fun of watching the 'costumed horrors' at Zouk later on...
It looked good in the trailers, storyline was ok, just didn't quite like the kid who kept whining about everything... and the fact that he was already told he has powers, but for I don't know what reason, doesn't choose to use them when he really needs to...
I do hope the Golden Compass is better, that one looks like its got more promise than The Seeker... Managed to catch a few new movie trailers coming soon... Most interesting to me are The Golden Compass, Iron man, Hitman, Harold and Kumar 2 and I am Legend...
Those are probably the few I'm interested in at the moment...
Oh yeah... I really gotta post this too... My friend's condo found this lost dog when I was there on Tuesday... Really sweet little thing... It's a white female Maltese... Looks like it's been owned, fur's just been trimmed, relatively well groomed... just no collar...
Awww... sooo cuuutteee!!
So after gym, my friend and I took her to the nearby pet store to see if anyone's reported her missing, and get some food for her... It's just so damn amusing... imagine 2 guys walking a small dog like that... sheesh... That is SO gay... lol...
From that short 10 min walk to the store, I can conclude two things, one, the maltese was owned probably by a female, cos she seemed to want to chase after the ladies ONLY... couldn't care less about the guys.. she always went towards any females.. and two, she's picky about some things... isn't afraid of crossing the road with us... but switching from one sidewalk to another path, sometimes she would refuse to walk, and my friend would have to carry her past this 'invisible' barrier before she'd be willing to walk again... How very 'female' eh? lol...
Anyway, I hope she's doing better now... hope her owners have found her... I'm tempted to take her in myself really... if not for my mother's strict 'no pets in the house' rule... I'll know more tmr when I go for gym again...
