Darn it... forgot what I wanted to blog about... lol... This is so irritating... Ugh...

Nvm... shall talk about something else... BYOB day!! Lol...

Yup... BYOB day stands for Bring Your Own Bag day... but somehow, many Singaporeans are viewing this day as PFAPB day... Pay For A Plastic Bag day... Can't tell you guys how irritated I am just hearing what some Singaporeans thought of BYOB day... Seriously damn idiotic...

It was already said that BYOB day was to help cut down on unwanted wastage of plastic bags, to save the environment... And that if you had to get a plastic bag, it would cost 10 cents, with the money going to help environmental conservation efforts... But apparently, many Singaporeans suffer from this weird illness that causes them to go deaf the moment the word "Pay" is heard... Apparently this is a quite common illness among Singaporeans known as, Atypical Semi Sensory Exception Sufferers, or ASSES...

It seems that these ASSES will experience a sudden momentary loss of one of their senses when a certain word is heard, in Singapore, it is almost exclusively the loss of their hearing when the word "Pay" is heard...

These people, at the moment the illness strikes, will lose their hearing, and at the same time, develop an irrational paranoia that the Government is out to get their hard earned 10 cents... But, at the same time, they will start to whine that the Government should do something about their problem...

The only problem I see here, is their lack of responsibility towards caring for their environment... I wonder what happened to all those Clean and Green campaigns we went through as children... Was it suddenly changed to Scrimp your Green campaign?? What happened to all those geography lessons about global warming, pollution and conservation of your environment?

If it was only the senoir citizens who were complaining about the plastic bags, it might have been more tolerable, after all, they might not know about the impacts on the environment... But these comments are coming from adults... WORKING adults for goodness sake... EDUCATED working adults, who would rather use his t-shirt to carry his items then fork out 10 cents for a plastic bag... What's up with that??

It's not like this is going to happen everyday... Its only once a month for goodness sake... and only 10 cents... not like giving up that 10 cents is going to make you a bankrupt...

So much fuss over having to pay 10 measly cents for a plastic bag, when the whole idea was for you to BRING YOUR OWN BAG... You guys are already lucky they didn't decide to NOT provide bags at all...

What can 10 cents get you these days anyway? One phone call? One sms? You can't even get a fishball anymore... So why bother to scrimp on that single coin? People can donate to Mcdonald's Children's Fund, I regularly see nearly full donation boxes for them... with not only coins, but notes as well... even 10 dollar notes...

But people won't lift a finger to help save the environment? Why? Just because the environment isn't yours?? Newsflash people!! The environment is EVERYONE'S... You live in it, grow up in it and die in it... Wouldn't it be logical to try to take care of it then? Just because it isn't something that you can hold and hug doesn't mean it isn't important...

This fuss over 10 cents has overshadowed the main point of BYOB day... and that is about saving our environment... You people already have a choice, bring your own bag, or pay a small fee for one... the money collected will go to helping conservation efforts....

So what if plastic bags should be provided as part of the supermarket's service? This is an initiative by the Government... You people are just too used to being pampered by the 'nanny-state'... Everytime there is a problem with anything, the first thing that comes to mind is... "The Government should..." Whatever happened to "WE should...."???

Have we become so dependent on our Government to right every wrong that we have become incapable of indepedent human common sense? So its BYOB day... Bring Your Own Bags ppl!! Its that simple... if not, just fork out the measly 10 cents, its helping to make a better future for your children...

This society has become too obsessed with instant gratification, always thinking "What do I get out of it"... How about for once, we start thinking ahead, towards our future and see that helping to save the environment will benefit everyone??

Kicking up such a big fuss over 10 cents like its $10 000... sheesh... Have we become a society of materialistic, superficial miserly sheep in a flock?

Like carrying a foldable plastic bag with you when you go shopping is going to kill you... Nearly everyone carries a bag when they go out anyway... Just put it in your bag and use it... People can do that for wet umbrellas but not your groceries? That's just plain dumb...

I bet that someone who grew up in a country where people carried their own shopping bags whether or not the store provided them with it, would laugh at the absurdity of all this... In fact, I think they already are... I know I am...

This blog is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced reasoning inherent to the thinking of the mind. It is the eventuality of an anomaly, which despite my sincerest efforts I have been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mind and body. While it remains a burden assiduously avoided, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led me, inexorably, here. (Yeah. It's edited from Matrix Reloaded, so bite me)
