A certain time a few weeks ago... In front of the TV...
TV is showing a commercial about the new beachfront condominium in Singapore.
Mum: Wah... so near the beach ah...
Me: Nice view leh...
Mum: Wait kena Tsunami ah...
Me: Can't happen lah, We're surrounded by Indonesia and Malaysia... No way the Tsunami can reach, very safe...
Mum: Even then? You never know...
Me: Cannot lah... Unless the wave is so tall it can cover Indonesia... meaning higher than the mountains...
Mum: Even then? Still can happen what...
Me:

Sometime last month, at night, when I was in my room watching Naruto...
Me: Wah!! So nice!!!
Mum comes home and opens my room door
Mum: Y never on the hall lights?!!
Me: I'm in my room mah... No need the outside light...
Mum: Nevermind!! Just switch it on!!
Me: Why? I'm in my room... not using outside light mah...
Mum: Even then? Just on lah!!
Me: But you everytime say wasting electricity mah...
Mum: Don't argue lah! Just switch on next time!!
Me:

Notice a trend? Hai~... This just makes me feel like moving out to my own place... Anyone ever consider sharing an apartment near school? Then no need to wake up so early, no need to biah for CCA points to stay in hall... Just that bit more freedom... but then again, it also comes with other responsibilities, like cleaning, cooking... getting groceries.... all that... if I was working part time, and could make enough, I'd really consider sharing a apartment with a few roomies... then split the cost... think it'll be fun... =)
Anyone wanna share?? I'm too tired to blog more today... maybe tmr... ciao~

I've just lost my best buddy... He was always there for me... Seeing me through the best times, and seeing me through the worst times of my life...
He accompanied me when I was mugging, when I stayed up late into the night... Giving me support when I needed it most...
He helped me get my facts right, corrected me when I was wrong... He gave me so much of his time and effort... and now... I've let him down... I hardly thanked him for all his effort, and now, I can't thank him anymore...
He's gone... Forever... My heart aches when I remember the times we shared...
Just me and my......... printer....
=P

I just realised that my PC is reaching 4 years old already... Got him when I was in JC2 I think... after JC2, NS and now, it's about 4 years... old liao... hai~... Just like me... hee...
Its starting to give signs of giving up... bad clusters on the hard disk, slowing down, can't play the new games anymore... sound card giving problems too... ugh...
Looks like I'll have to go check the prices at Sim Lim again... hai~... Hopefully I don't have to spend so much money like that last time... prices should be cheaper now... since I'm only changing the insides, the monitor, keyboard and speakers all still can use...
And my printer is spoilt too!! Well... it's actually not my printer... my aunt's, I borrowed it cos she's overseas for 2 years... and her printer, although older, prints faster than my father's bubblejet... now I can't switch it on!! =(
Hai~... anyone got job lobang??

You Are 22 Years Old |
22
Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.
13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.
20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.
30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!
40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

Heh... don't know if this is true... but I like it!!! Finally, something that doesn't make me look younger than my age!! Whee!! =P

Have I ever mentioned how screwed up the NUS sytem is? They say that their module bidding and tutorial balloting is flexible and and everyone should be able to get what they want... NOT TRUE!!
I was already pissed with the modules this sem... and now, they're making me more pissed with the tutorials...
For the benefit of those not in NUS, the system works like this... You have a whole list of tutorials that you can take, from every module... and you're supposed to select those that fit your time slots... quite fair right? But then, you have to rank them in order of priority... 1 to however many you have... BUT... it is not separate ballots for each subject... it's combined!! meaning if you have 3 different modules, if you put the slot for A at 1, then B and C can occupy only 2 and 3...
I had 5 choices, 1 A, 2 Bs and 2 Cs... so I ranked them A B B C C... tot it would be fine... in the end, I only managed to get A... the rest all had no more vacanies...
Argh... And now I'm stuck cos the remaining choices that are given for this round clash with my timetable... I'm thinking of emailing the lecturer... Hopefully it can work out... otherwise I'll have to do manual registration... but only for classes that still have vacancies... argh... This sucks!!!

Hrm... guess I can say it's been an ok week... School started... and I went to my SS (Singapore Studies) lecture without any notes, feeling totally unprepared... and guess what? The lecturer put up the lecture slides like 2 hours before the lecture... when I was leaving for school!! Argh!! Luckily he said that it really wasn't needed... In the end, I was scribbling down notes cos he was reading from something and it wasn't on the slides... Nation Building is kinda interesting I guess... hehe... I just hope I can do well in it...
I also decided to take my yr 2 stats... ST2238, this sem... partly cos I didn't have anything else to take, not enough points in my General account after spending 519 on the SS... and also cos I realised that quite a lot of yr 1s were taking it too... I went for the lecture on Wed morning, and found that the lecturer was a Singaporean (Yes!!) Hee... and he kinda made the lecture quite entertaining... so that's always good... so far, the lectures are actually understandable... hehe...
I went for my first lab this week too!! Quite fun... extracting genomic DNA from bacteria cells... the DNA appears as some gluey strands... interesting lab... and coincidentally... in the lecture after that, from the other module, the lecturer also talked about DNA... and he gave us dried DNA samples!! Hee... looks like the rubber pieces after you're done erasing... feels like tissue paper though... I took it home with me... hee.. It's sitting on my table now... in a tube... Hee...
I had a 6 hour break on Thurs... after my Jap Studies lecture, I went down to Orchard with Val... We went to catch the movie Meet the Fockers... It's actually quite farney... some parts at least... hee... esp, the one where the toddler says "Ass... hOOle..." hee...
Friday was a slack day, cos there was no lab... ONLY a 6 - 8pm lecture to make up for one during the CNY... urgh... but I accompanied Val to her 10am Psych lecture... cos I wanted to take Pyshc... bid too high... but the guy quite interesting... always got video clips to show... a good lesson learnt that morning... always check the textbook prices with the Co-op before buying 2nd hand books... hee...
She was starting work that day, so I sent her there, and managed to get back to school for the lecture just in time... hee... the lecture was ok... the company was better... hee... need to revise mol. genetics...
I accompanied Val home from work today too... cos I got tired of staying cooped up at home... poor girl ends work so late... we managed to catch the last train home... a lot of other people were taking that train home too... heh... I walked her home... then took a cab back... the driver quite poor thing... old man... still have to work so late... then he's a really careful driver... start off quite slow... I really felt an urge to tell him, "Uncle, you rest in the cab first... I drive myself home." Hee... really... pity him... he say he so old still have to work... then sometimes cannot remember the route liao...
Hope the government will really be increasing the retirement age... :)
On a lighter note... here's some jokes...
What do you call a guy with a shovel in his head??
Dug (Doug)
Then what do you call a guy with no shovel in his head?
Dug-less (Douglas)
Hee... :P
Have a nice week!!

Argh... School's supposed to start tmr... and yet I can't seem to find the notes I need for my lectures... I've got a Nation building lecture on Mon, but the IVLE site doesn't say anything about it... there isn't even any lesson plan... How the hell would I know if there's a lecture or not?
Then most of the files on the IVLE are still from last year... I don't know whether I should print them... or whether they're the same... My molecular genetics mod is teling us to go print out practicals 1-4... but the only 1-4 practicals I see are those that were posted up on Aug 04... should I print those out?? Argh...
Think those lecturers are still slacking at home... OH yeah... plus, I still have to decide whether I want to replace my stats mods with something else... argh... HELP!!!
On a lighter note, I met up with the guys and a few girls,(including mine, hee...) and went to try this new place near Clark Quay MRT... called Settlers Cafe... it's a place where you can go sit down, eat, drink and play board games and other obscure games... So fun!! We managed to squeeze 12 ppl on one table meant for 6... hee... One good game is Cranium, like a mix of Trivia Pursuit, win, Lose or Draw, and Charades... damn fun... Then we played Cluedo... but since we had too many people, we split into 6 teams of 2... hee...
We bought 2 games packages, so we had 4 hours worth of playing.. we ended Cluedo at 11.30, then decided to paly Jenga... managed to get it up to 30 levels, before unlucky me had to poke the blocks too hard and sent it crashing down... hai~... In the end, I was the one who paid for the bill FIRST... after which I was surrounded by lots of notes and coins... heh... my wallet was so heavy...
It's really a good place to go if you want to chill with some friends and play games besides LAN gaming... good alternative... but if you're going at night on weekends, you might have to book, cos it's quite crowded...
Oh yeah... btw... to those racing fans... Gran Turismo 4 is out!! But it's $118... urgh... think I'm going to have to save money... the steering wheel is like $300+... argh!!! But it looks damn good... sheesh...
I want school to start!! Where are my notes!! Heh.... think I'm nuts...

Hai~... NUS is really screwed up... they go and make all the mods I want to take clash with each other... if it's not cos the timetable clashes, then it's the exam that clashes.... stupid... like that then what else can I take?
I'm definitely not going to take something I have absolutely no interest in taking... what the hell... It's supposed to be an open syallabus... we can choose what to take... but what the hell can I take when I'm not allowed to take it cos it clashes???
Argh!!! Stupid!!!!
Btw... Happy freakin' New Year too... Ugh...
