Yeah yeah.... that was Val trying to be me... a good impersonation... but there's only one original Slkrz... hehe.... ;P

And yes... I'm finally blogging again... this is for the benefit of those who read my blog and wonder whether I've dropped off the radar.... I haven't k? Just busy with school and getting settled down that's all... What Val said in the previous post has some truth... The NUS Computer Centre is still as fucked up as ever... they keep telling ppl to wait for an email telling them to collect their laptops, which will probably come in 2 weeks... well... I waited 16 days!!! I got so damn tired of waiting that I just went down there... showed them my receipt, got my ticket... and then.... saw the queue number and my jaw dropped... Queue number in current attendance... 5198... MY queue number... 5296... WTH!!! I was like... k, fine... I'm going science to eat first... and I did... hehe... instead of sitting down and waiting like the other poor souls in there... I just went off to science fac... ate there... walked around the sports bazaar and other fairs... talked with friends... bid for my tutorials and practicals... slacked around... went back 1 and a half hours later... and found I still had 48 more ppl to go... Knn... I think even a clinic goes faster than that.... Anyway, I happened to see Shamantha and her sis waiting too... so I sat with them and waited the remaining places out... Actually... it's kinda interesting to watch ppl at work... noticed they kinda speed up work when the clock goes past 5.00pm... hehe... After 5, they were like rushing to go home and they still had like 60-70 more ppl to go... hehe... They broke some records doing it I must say... like 7 ppl in 10 mins.... hrm... not bad... hehe...

I got my ticket at 3pm... and got my laptop at 6+pm... that was also another stupid thing... when you go to the computer centre to get your lappy... for those getting Toshiba and Fujitsu, you can collect them on the spot... whereas for my laptop, since it was IBM, I had to walk to YIH to get it there.... sheesh... so I got there... damn tired already... it was a really hot day too... got my laptop... then found out they didn't have the network cable there!!! I either had to go back to the com centre at the MPSH, or to the other co-op at Central Library... I REALLY didn't feel like walking up more stairs, so I just took a bus with my big bag to Central Library... went to the co-op, got the cable for freaking 5 bucks... then, I was so damn tired... I just hopped into a cab and went home... couldn't take it anymore sia... just wanted to go home...

Think that was bad? Not as bad as today... there was an IT fair in school today... so I went down and asked about RAM upgrades cos frankly, 256mb isn't enough... hehe... Anyway... they told me to go to the co-op... the science one was closed, so I went to the YIH one, since that was where I got my laptop in the first place... they told me that I had to go all the way up to the com centre at the MPSH so tell them I wanted to buy the RAM... then get the receipt and go back down to them to get it... I was like... HAH?? Argh... so that's just what I did... with my laptop in my bag.... plus all their accessories... was like walking with a field pack all over again sia.... after all that walking, I reached back at YIH at 4+pm... neck and back aching like crazy... took a break while the guys put the RAM in for me... then chatted with them for a while... heh... they also agreed that the system needed some work... Oh oh oh!! I forgot to add... when I went to collect my laptop... they told me that they had run out of the Office 2003 CDs and my backpack!! I was damn pissed cos I needed Office for my notes!! Argh!!! Told me to come back on Fri... luckily I came by yesterday... got my Office first... they still owe me a backpack... WTH man... you bring in the laptops with a lesser amount of accessories?? You guys cannot count ah? sheesh... well... at least I finally got my lappy... hee....

Been having fun with it.... installed Need For Speed: Underground liao... but I think I should get a game that's not so graphics intensive.... hee... Ooh~!! and I watched the Olympics today while in Stats lecture!! All thanks to the TV netcast from NUS... hee...

Speaking of Olympics... I read this in 8 Days just now... quite farney some of them... I'll put up a few of my faves...

Singaporean Olympic Events
In previous Olympics, Singapreans have not been particualrly successful. In order the redress the balance, certain events have been altered slightly to the advantage of local atheletes.....

The Marathon
The route has not been confirmed, but competitors will be issued with bright orange CWO jackets, sharp sticks and garbage bags with which to pick up litter along the way.

Pole Vault
In Singapore, compeititors will not need to vault. Instead, they will be judged by how fast they can string laundry onto their poles, then hang them out of a regular HDB flat window.

Equestrian
Competitors will also be judged by how much money they made from their bookies.

Hammer
The hammer will be abolished, to be replaced by 'the Lightning'.

Archery
Competitors must fire unpleasant and tedious tasks at moving targets consisting of people shouting, "Siam ah!!", "Arrow lai leow!" and "Take cover!"

and my personal favourite....
200 metres track
The track has been reconfigured in line with Singaporean custom. Competitors must now run towards a tree 100 metres away, touch it, and then run back to the finish line as several thousand seasoned military personnel encourage them with traditional greetings such as "Neh' mine! Take your time!!", "Bleddy gu niang!" and "Granfudder army, is it?"

Wahahahaha!!!!! I was ROTFLMAO after that one!!! Anyway, enjoy them guys!!!

Slkrz blog
This blog is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced reasoning inherent to the thinking of the mind. It is the eventuality of an anomaly, which despite my sincerest efforts I have been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mind and body. While it remains a burden assiduously avoided, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led me, inexorably, here. (Yeah. It's edited from Matrix Reloaded, so bite me)
